10th Book Celebration!

Hi, friends! I feel like it’s pretty crazy that I can say this, but on March 1st – next Friday – my TENTH book will be released. It’s Not Hansel and Gretel is the second book in the It’s Not a Fairy Tale series, illustrated by Edwardian Taylor.

Available at:

Indiebound B&N Amazon

There’s even a Giveaway going on at Goodreads if you’d like to enter.

If you’re in the Boston area on Saturday, March 9th, I’d love for you to help celebrate the release of this new book – along with all nine of my previous ones.

Starting at 11am Belmont Books (in Belmont, Massachusetts), I’ll be reading and signing all of my books – and *there will be free food* – from gingerbread to pancakes to picnics to taco salads, I’ll be sharing the foods from all of my books (or maybe I’ll just bring a last minute box of cookies)!

Feel free to pass this invite along to all of your family, friends, students, teachers, and all of the booklovers in your life.

I’m incredibly honored to have been able to publish ten books and have you be a part of my journey. I’d love to celebrate this milestone with you.

Wait, what is this book even about? Here’s what the publisher has to say:

Jack is not fond of the bossy narrator of his fairy tale! When Jack is told to trade his beloved cow Bessie for some magic beans, throw the beans out the window, climb the ENORMOUS beanstalk that sprouts overnight, and steal from a GIANT, he decides this fairy tale is getting out of control. In fact, he doesn’t want to follow the story line at all. Who says Jack needs to enter a life of daring, thievery, and giant trickery? He takes his story into his own hands—and you’ll never guess what happens next!

With laugh-out-loud dialogue and bold, playful art (including hidden fairy tale creatures for kids to find), this Jack and the Beanstalk retelling will have children rolling with laughter till Bessie the cow comes home.

It’s Not a Stinky Giveaway

Yesterday I had that “Back to the Future” moment for the fifth time. I received a package containing a final copy of my next book, It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk.

If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.
However, my silly editor mistakenly sent me TWO copies. While one of them was probably supposed to go to the book’s extraordinary illustrator, Edwardian Taylor, I’ve decided to give it away to one lucky reader!

GIANT News! It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk officially has a cover and is available for pre-order!

I have to say, I think it’s pretty amazing! This META-Mixed-Up Fairy Tale is my first book that isn’t written in rhyme. For more info, here’s the official flap copy:

It’s Not Jack and the Beanstalk is available for pre-order now and will be released on September 19, 2017!
